The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development has announced the finalists of the 2015 InvestMaryland Challenge and two companies from Howard County are among the finalists.

The rigorous competition began with 214 companies and just 12 remain. The Howard County businesses are Vheda Health, a resident company at the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship and Integrata Security based in Columbia.

“These finalists are among the best and brightest startups and entrepreneurs in Maryland and beyond,” said Mike Gill, DBED Secretary. “In Maryland, we are committed to creating the best possible environment for high-tech, innovative startup companies like the InvestMaryland Challenge finalists.

We at Vheda Health are humbled to represent Howard County and the Maryland Center of Entrepreneurship. We are the Howard County and Maryland story. Shameet Luhar and Philip Rub, the company’s co-founders, grew up in Howard County and attended local high schools – River Hill and Glenelg.
